Join us for a cozy December afternoon where stories, memories, and a touch of Christmas nostalgia bring old Aarhus back to life.

We’ll meet at Den Gamle By at 14:15, and at 14:30 our adventure begins with a guided tour through the charming Christmas exhibitions. Your guide will walk you through how Christmas was celebrated “back in the day”, from old traditions to quirky details that shaped the city’s seasonal spirit.

Afterwards, we’ll step into a 1950s apartment called “Erindringslejligheden”, a lovingly preserved snapshot of old Aarhus. There, we’ll gather around a coffee table for coffee, cake, and stories with an Aarhus elder, who will share personal memories of the city and everyday life back then.

It’s intimate, authentic, and a truly special chance to hear Aarhus history told by someone who lived it.
